The venue’s giant-fish package names Mekong giant catfish and Siamese giant carp. That makes it a relevant option to discuss if your priority is freshwater giants rather than walking a lure around a small predator pond.

Be clear about what would make a good day for you. A first-time angler may want help throughout the fight, while an experienced angler may be interested in a particular target or approach. Tell your guide which describes you. Photographs of previous catches show what has happened before, not what every visitor will catch.

Ask how the fishing will work for your group: who will prepare the setup, how instruction is provided, and what to do when a fish takes. Understanding those steps before the action starts is more useful than trying to learn everything with a fish already on the line.

If you are weighing up daytime and overnight fishing, think about the rest of your holiday. Discuss lighting, rest arrangements and the journey back before deciding. Choose the session you can enjoy comfortably rather than assuming a longer booking must be better.

Plan for the whole group

For a family or mixed-experience group, tell John the ages of younger visitors and the number of people who will actually fish. Ask about seating, shade, toilets and the arrangements for anyone who wants to watch. Do not assume a spectator is included in an angler’s package.

The official venue website lists lakeside bungalows and an equipment shop. If a private resting space matters to your group, ask about availability and the additional cost before your visit. A facility appearing on a venue website does not reserve it for your party.

What to confirm and bring
